There are limitations on species-specific abilites.

Scorpid Sting is for scorpids
Dash is for Wolves and Cats
Dive is for Owls, Bats, Vultures, and Serpents

You can't have poison sting on a cat, or dash on a scorpid.

Eternal conflict... Dual Weild V.S. Two Handers

Hello a question from a new hunter I have a lvl 60 warrior so I decided to try some other class... well once I started going battlegrounds with my hunter I started wondering what is better in PvP a strong 2h or two fast 1h, yeah with 2x 1h +15 agi I gain five more agility but some people say that a slower 2h +25agi can throw out much better crits, especially when forced to melee (ex. warrior charges you) and when you need that one raptor strike before you stunn them so you can make distance to shoot

So what is the better in you oppinion; or even better what style of playing does dual weild best suits and what style of playing is best for two handers

Its a nice guide so far, I disagree with some of what you said, but its all a matter of perspective(your playstyle, not mine). Two points that I would address however are talent points, and professions. I think going for a balanced build is an interesting idea, you miss out on too many talents that give hunters too much. By not going further into one tree or the other, youve missed out on Scattershot, RWS, LR mortal shot(that or lethal, can remember atm) also TSA, and bestial wrath. These are examples from all three trees, so Im not pushing one over the other, just saying that build 4 gives up more than it gains imo. Also for profs, skinning is a wonderful proffession, but leatherworking becomes a tad bit of a waste after 40. I think personally that the tough scorpid armor set and the dragonscale gaunts are the best armor for us through most of the 40's, but really most of the other DS leatherworking appears very much geared to appeal to shamans, not us. I would also recommend for newer players take 2 gathering profs... like skinning, herbs, mining till lvl 40(would not suggest mining and herbs together though), this way everything gathered is pure profit. After 40, you tend to be able to make $$ alot faster and can sink it into lvling a crafting prof of your choice at your leisure. Another one to think about is eng. This can make you a superhunter loved by all in some situations, say you are in SM cath or whatever (sticks out most to me having wiped there alot), and you are down to the last fight when the tank bites it, followed by the rogue, then healer, then mage... this leaves you all alone, a quick FD and pray your jumper cables work on the preist, and youve single handedly saved your group yay go hunter. Lots of other fun stuff in eng too, but yeah. Once again, this just hunting from my perspective, and I applaud you for taking the time to make a very well put together guide... I will keep in touch.

One other question. Whenever I find a new pet, say.... a wolf. Once I use it in combat, it reveals abilities like bite, or a cat has prowl, etc... the game says I learned a new ability bite 1 or prowl 2, etc... Can these abilities be used on other pets I find? Are there limitations? Could I put a poison sting on a cat, lol ? Or can I put a bite attack on a snow leapard? etc...

Thanks again!

Yes they most certainly can, as long as said pet type is able to use said ability... i.e. pigs cant learn prowl or screech, but can learn charge.

Thanks for the vote of confidence ZZ. When the guide was created it was geared more for endgame than anything. For leveling, BM is a good build, but for endgame raiding (I.E. MC, BWL, AQ and so forth), your pet won't do the talking, your slingshot will.

As far as the LW is concearned, since the guide is based more on endgame, it is mostly for the Black Dragonscale, which is excellent for hunters in MC for FR, as it adds direct Attack Power per piece along with a considerable amount of FR. With the new items now available from the Cenarian Hold, LW is becoming more and more viable for hunters. Craftable pieces can let you truly customize your hunter in ways you couldn't effectively do before. More on that in the guide.

I would also like to mention that this guide was posted long ago, long before the Hunter Talent Preview came into effect, therefore it is using the old talent trees. My talent tree points are distributed differently now after the talent preview, and I have tried the new talent trees with all kinds of combinations, finding the best one for my playstyle. More on that in the upcoming guide.

I am establishing this "in-tuned" guide with loads more in-game experience talking more specifically on talent builds, weapons, and group/raid positioning. This guide will be a beneficiary of not just me, but other hunters that have been in-game since beta, they put their say into it. I am also adding unexpected extras here and there, stay tuned for more.

~cheers

Hey,

Looks like you guys sure are serious with your World of Warcraft. I used to play that too but eventually I quit. I have reached level 60 on my hunter and I've got mostly epic items. I sold my account to MMOtrust. I just wanted to share this with you becuase I've heard stories of scammers and such, just a warning.

So far, I've never heard any negative reactions against MMOtrust. The ONLY thing i consider is the legitimacy, and this company sure is legit.

Now I won't atone to let this happen to anyone that is a true gamer. This "Account Selling" IS and always WILL BE against the rules, any true gamer would know this. Those that wish to play the game for a little bit find they either like it or not (more times they do like it), but to push to 60 then play on through just to sell it is kind of a waste of time IMO.

Back to the subject, alot has passed since I've been able to post. I've been moving here and there, and finally back in the saddle. I will review my hunter guide and post a revised edition, even covering the new patches and the push to 70. Upcoming expansion is on the horizon, too, So I will incorporate some news into it as well. Instead of continuing on from where I left off, I will create a whole new guide to post up and hopefully it will be stickied up as well. Till the day, I bid you farewell.

~cheers
